I took this from an attorney's playbook, actually heard it in an interview just this morning, and felt like I needed to hear it myself. So I added the real estate twist and reminded myself of this:
Here's the thing, I have to remind myself of this sort of thing on a regular basis. Contrary to what you may perceive, I'm actually a pretty sensitive person and when I have a bad day or a wonky situation or a contract that is going a bit sideways or mercury is in retrograde or a client who lacks trust or reason or communication skills or decent sleep habits, it can throw me off my A-game. So I put this here as a little placeholder for this equalizing gem.
